With characteristic elan, Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi reimagine the classic roll-arm English sofa as a modernist 3 Seater. Working with Italian maker Gubi, the designers play on the traditional form with a good dose of Italian brio, from the seating’s low-slung, expansive proportions to its softly rounded cushions to its sleek metal legs. Yet it retains a precise silhouette, emphasized by the taut upholstery and meticulous piped edges. A slender wooden frame underpins the layers of springs, foam and feathers that offer complete comfort for both sitting and reclining. And the seat and backrest cushion covers are thoughtfully removable for cleaning.
