Aiming for “design without eccentricity,” Muuto’s Fiber Chair from Copenhagen-based design duo Iskos-Berlin takes to a number of variations—here with a swivel base that’s especially suited to a desk or table. Priorities were clear: seating with a strong identity, adaptable to many interiors and, most importantly, exhibiting a “clear sculptural language that refuses to compromise on comfort.” Reworking the classic molded shell chair—with back, seat and armrests all in one—was the preferred route. Made in an innovative composite of plastic and wood fibers, the material has a textured matte surface and soft inviting touch.
