With In Situ, designers Anderssen & Voll say they meld “the grandeur of traditional Italian sofas with the refined simplicity of Scandinavian design.” Working with Copenhagen brand Muuto, the Norwegian studio arrived at a distinctive modular scheme, with 30 prearranged configurations based on the 9 different seating styles and 2 loose cushions. A powder-coated steel frame runs along the seat and back of the sofa and visually unifies the separate units. In Situ’s crisp profile and deeply comfortable proportions are realized with wood construction and foam, wadding, and fiber ball fill.
