Designer Jamie McLellan indulges in some visual tomfoolery with Plane Coffee Table’s hefty slabs of solid timber stacked in a seemingly impossible balancing act. Clever engineering holds the legs, cross beam and tabletop together in a sculptural configuration that is also spaciously functional. Shipped unassembled in a super-efficient flat-pack, the monolithic pieces can be unpacked at their destination, stood on edge like gigantic building blocks and joined with cleverly hidden steel connections.
