Despite its phantom-like presence, German designer Andreas Kowalewski’s table lamp is actual an update on portable antique oil lamps. Ghost’s translucent opal glass form gives the illusion of a white cloth thrown over the light source while a slim metal rod surrounds the shade protectively and functions as a carrying handle. A subtle vertical groove pattern on the surface fades out gradually upwards, emphasizing the lamp’s refined sculptural character.
