From the Kite series designed for narrow common spaces in hotels and offices, this lounge chair offers an extra-deep curved seat along with a moderately high backrest. Architect-designer Oki Sato of Japanese studio Nendo has devised a multilayered form set on a slender metallic frame to take the place of uncomfortable benches often seen in corridors and entryways. “The design takes up minimal space while offering the chair’s occupant a bit of calm and security,” he notes. Produced by Shanghai furniture brand Stellar Works. the multifaceted chair is sheathed in a neutral speckled grey upholstery.
