Adding personalization to its many other virtues, Massproductions’ wood seating in bar or counter height adds a version with an upholstered seat. Designer Chris Martin’s suave mix of Nordic and Eastern influences is evident in the stool’s charts characteristic rounded armrests and narrow backrest that belie its contract-grade sturdiness. Three skilled woodcraft techniques—solid timber, layer-glued and steam-bent—are used in this distinctive seating that comes in several beech finishes including a high-impact red lacquer.
