The earthy qualities of this Oaxacan town, with barely a population of more than 3,000 and a rich terrain, provides the graphic inspiration for this rug from Matiz. It is also where the father of founding designer Jezarely Miguel hails from (her mother’s hometown inspired the Tuxtepec rug). The Portland-based rug creator returned to this region to enlist an extended family of artisans here for her modern rugs, sustainably crafted with traditional techniques and 100% sheep’s wool locally sourced and soft to the touch. Multiple sizes available, including custom orders upon request.
